Colm Piercy

Founder and Chair

Colm Piercy is an experienced founder and investor in Digital Infrastructure, Technology and Telecom ventures. He was founder and Group CEO of the Digiweb Group, an independent Telecoms, Cloud and Managed IT services provider that now includes Viatel, Digiweb and Smart Telecom with operations across Ireland, the UK and Europe.

Colm also co-founded Dataplex in 2011, a successful wholesale Data Center provider. Since 2013, his investment company, Chirisa Investments, has become the lead investor in data center firms, 365 Data Centers and Digital Fortress, which between them own or operate more than 20 data centres across the US.

Colm is also an active Limited Partner Investor in multiple Venture Funds in Ireland, Europe and the US.

Winner of the 2012 Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award for Industry, Colm holds an engineering degree from University of Limerick where he went on to lecture in Mechatronics and Engineering Computing to Post and Under Grad levels. He later held the position of Innovation and Research Services Manager at the Dundalk Institute of Technology, delivering Enterprise and R&D services into industry as well as managing the Institute’s business incubator and accelerator for graduate-led business start-ups and fast growth enterprises.
